07 Apr This Week’s Top Trend Review is Here, take a Look!
Hey there lovely lushes, I present you with another Top Five Pick of the week straight from the runways into Style Lush TV just for all of you! We are seeing many reoccurring trends for this season and I just can’t get enough! This week I wanted to pick from designer pieces that would be considered more of a practical trend for our wonderful city of San Antonio.
I started with Chole this week, I struggled with this collection because I thoroughly enjoyed many of the pieces in her collection. We have been seeing lots of Boho and hippie-esque trends during this Spring and Clare Waight Keller the creative director of Chole depicted this go to style trend in a unique manner. Her silhouettes spoke for themselves, pretty yet precise and elegant but not excessive. The styling was simple, clean and chic not in any means overdone. In my eyes she created the perfect frivolous spring collection with embroidered light weight and soft tone fabrics, classy and simple denim ensembles and long flowy silhouettes alongside with short and flirty daytime lengths.
With also yet another very practical Spring collection coming from Kate Spade New York these looks are modest and easy to attain for a Spring workday or fun Saturday adventure. I loved the statement given, “We wanted to celebrate those moments when it’s time to put down the phone” by creative officer Deborah Llyod in a review about the collection. The emphasis was on leisure here with most silhouettes not hugging the body, bold but not in your face prints in floral and stripes paired with flats, lots of flats for added comfort. I also personally loved seeing hats as the reoccurring accessory trend here.
Next designer collection is that of Monique Lhuillier, I enjoyed seeing her unique color scheme for this season. Her designs are graceful with a sense of pizazz! Lhuillier’s color scheme reminded that of a soft sunrise above the water. I liked the contrast of soft light tones paired with iridescent and metallic reflective configurations and the added touch of floral. These looks felt perfect for that afternoon to early evening “garden party” which is only fitting for the season of Spring!
Onto the next, Nicole Miller. This runway was filled with flirty skirts, crop tops, black, white, geometric shapes and the classic touch, floral! It felt refreshing to see the black and white done up in a totally untraditional style paired with chic ruffles, peplum and bright touch of a more modern floral. I loved the mix of prints she used! Miller’s line is a bit more bold but I feel like San Antonio can really embrace many of these looks. We know all of you love your black! These are great looks to incorporate a spring feel to your ever occurring black.
Last for this week, but certainly not least! Here is Rebecca Minkoff’s review of her spring runway. This was an especially fun collection to see because it wasn’t long ago that Rebecca Minkoff herself was here in San Antonio! Burgundy Woods and I had the pleasure of meeting her, we were totally star struck! Rebecca’s collection possessed a bohemian feel and ranged in muted pastels, gliding day dresses, ruffled tops and a vintage-esque incorporated lace. She made each look complete with fringe leather clutches and we see again wide brimmed hats. To top it off, one of the newest trends in accessories is integrated technology! Many of the gold jewelry pieces coming down her runway are a part of the brand’s new wearable tech launch, these studded notification bracelets buzz when you receive an incoming call or text! How cool is that?!
Pictured below are some of Rebecca Minkoff’s new wearable tech accessories.
