If you are true San Antonian, the name Santikos will be a familiar one. Santikos though, is more than just a theatre, Santikos is a huge driving force contributing to our city by its charitable legacy.
The opening of the Casa Blanca theatre extends the charitable legacy of the late John L. Santikos, cinema pioneer and visionary, to the west side of the city. As part of the theatre group now organized under the San Antonio Area Foundation, the Casa Blancas and all Santikos Theatres exist for the sole benefit of the community, making Santikos Entertainment the only theatre group in the world that operates as a social enterprise.
Through operation of the theatres, $12 million will be given to the community in 2016. The fund is estimated to generate $20 million a year or $40,000 a week for the community over the next 10 years.
Areas of focus for Santikos Entertainment donations are people in need, like special needs, victims of child abuse, disaster relief and one that is extremely important to me in particular, senior citizens. Santikos also includes youth and education (K-12 and higher), public libraries, parks and museums, arts and culture, as well as medicine, healthcare and medical research.
I had the pleasure of attending the new theatre recently and was absolutely thrilled to see what was waiting inside. Santikos has taken the average movie going outing and transformed it into a true entertainment “Experience”. Along with watching your movie, you can play a game of bowling, enjoy a cocktail, get retro in their arcade or if your craving sweets and treats, grab a bite from their cafe.
Once you finally make it into the theatre, you may find yourself in a full food and drink service at your reclining seat (yes, six of the auditoriums have plush reclining seats!) and perhaps in front of one of the biggest movie screens in Texas, 90 feet wide to be exact, so big, I could not fit the entire screen on my camera. (Not even from the top aisle of the auditorium)
It is a very fun entertainment destination and there was no lack of #StyleLush trends at the venue. Here are our Top 10 #StyleLush Trends starring Santikos and some of San Antonio’s elite fashion & lifestyle bloggers (I too, make a little cameo appearance).
10. CHARCOAL GREY & METALLICS
From the chic chairs in their central leisure section to the shoes on the bowling alley lanes, this combination was seen in multiple ways throughout the theatre.
9. NEONS & COOL COLOR
I love neons lights. Everyone who knows me knows it. I’m a product of the disco era, so it’s truly embedded in my DNA. From the purple hue of my hair to the flashing neon lights of the 16 lane bowling alley, there was no shortage of exciting neons & saturated color.
8. COLOR BLOCKING
From the blue and black seats of the auditoriums to this fabulous dress, color blocking was making a statement.
7. PRINTS & PATTERNS
Prints and Patterns are huge this Spring/Summer, even the central leisure seating showcased gorgeous statement patterns.
6. CLASSIC BLACK
The Santikos Entertainment Casa Blanca theatre offers the best sound technology available with premium Klipsch speakers and Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System in AVX House
From the top of the line sound technology to dapper blazers and flowy skirts, classic black will always be close by.

5. WHIMSICAL CHARACTERS
Like the whimsical characters of our favorite arcade games, cute images were seen on the latest flats.
4. BLUE & INDIGO TONES
Blue, lots of Blue, their logo, the colorblocked seats even printed pants and strappy sandals.
3. BARE SHOULDERS & THE BAR
Also trending, the fabulous full bar! Pair that with stylish vixens wearing the latest off-the-shoulder trend and you have a very happy hour.
2. IT’S A TIE
As one of the strongest fashion trends of the evening, tied waists. From shirts to pants to wraps and in-design, this fashion trend reigned supreme.
AND NUMBER 1. BIG SCREENS, BLOGGERS & BUTTONS
So of course, the theatre itself and its patron are the number one trend of the evening. Topping our list is the following fabulousness:
the 90 foot screen sound in select auditoriums,
the insanely awesome fashion & lifestyle bloggers of San Antonio, Texas
and the full food and drink service at. your. SEAT!
Did I make you want to visit yet? Well, take a look at our episode above and then…
we’ll see you at Santikos.
