Last week, we attended the first Annual EveryBody Beautiful Event, hosted by Elsa Fernandez of Eye Candy Boutique and Dani Espinoza of Lustrous Public Relations and we’re still dancing around the room! Just as promised, the body positive centric event focused on encouraging attendees to interact with the models during the fashion show and shopping locally. The event opened with a heart opening exercise, led by Mobile Om, in which we placed our hand on the back of our neighbor, close to their heart, with our eyes closed and embraced each other’s beating hearts. It was such a lovely experience, that it truly united us as human beings regardless of how diverse we all were. During the actual show, each local vendor was to present their fashions with models of their choosing, who would all step on a pedestal, with a body positive message written on it. Dancing to fun music, they would encourage interaction by either stepping off the pedestal to dance with the public, bringing people on to the pedestal to dance with them, launching beach balls into the crowd, blowing bubbles all over the place and giving out hugs. It was so much fun, you couldn’t help but get up and dance!

We received delicious treats provided by Texas Sugar Daddies, then proceeded to continue to dance and shop from all the vendors. The event was held at Brick at Blue Arts and it was perfect for this innovative concept while allowing folks to get their shop on! Local clothing/accessories vendors included Eye Candy Boutique, Morris Kaye & Sons Furs, Zelle Boutique, Deco Tease, My SAS Couture Boutique, and Hola Beaches. Other local vendors included Love Letter Library, Chef Jerry, Mobile OM and music was bumpin’  thanks to DJ Fuzion. Proceeds from ticket sales went to benefit the Pride Center at PrideSanAntonio.org.

It was such a wonderful, feel good time while promoting self love, love for the city and supporting local entrepreneurs! We’re really hoping this is only the beginning for this power duo in creating community unity with a body positive message!

Love Elsa & Dani? So do we!
