As we continue on our Road to the Red Carpet Fitness series with Inbalance, Hope Cowgill-Pedraza guides us through moves that will help tone the core. These moves will help you look great in those form fitting dresses and suit jackets! We worked our core with multi-targeted moves on the floor that mostly only require your body weight, but for added bonus, we incorporated some simple tools. We started with towel push ups. You can use a towel on hard surfaces like wood or tile, but if you have carpeted flooring you can use a piece of cardboard or a paper plate to slide.
Hope stayed away from standard crunches to target specific muscles in the core like your upper abs, middle abs, lower abs and even the waistline. We only did a few reps, but I was feeling the burn almost immediately! Hope advises that you max out and keep going even after you feel the burn, because that is when the exercise is truly working. The moves are fairly simple and even kind of fun, but they are definitely effective and will get you Red Carpet Ready in no time!
Inbalance offers such a great variety of classes that help you mix it up and work on all areas, including Cardiovascular exercises. They offer classes like Pilates (several types), Barre (including Barre Burn and more recently, Suspended Barre with the TRX Bands), Yoga, TRX, Dance Cardio, Latin Sculpt, Boot Camps, just to name a few of the many options for all levels and ages. The classes are so fun that you barely even notice that you’ve worked up a serious sweat! They also have Community Classes that are FREE, (Yup, you read that right)! So be sure to follow them on Facebook to find out the next classes that you can attend in different locations around San Antonio. Stay tuned for the next episode to close out our Three Part Series with Inbalance as we focus on legs to get fully ready for the San Antonio Fashion Awards on October 12th at the Tobin Center for Performing Arts!
