What’s trending in San Antonio fashion? The San Antonio Fashion Awards!

There was no shortage of excitement when the San Antonio’s 2017 San Antonio Fashion Awards nominees were released to the public early this September. In its first three hours of release, the site saw record-breaking numbers for its first day and has recorded, for the first time in San Antonio Fashion Awards history, national voters spread throughout the United States.

The San Antonio Fashion Awards, now in its third year, will take place at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts and is benefiting Project SMART 5013c. On October 12th, the winners of the voting season will be announced and awarded the Diamond Award of Excellence in the following categories: Local Retailer of the Year, Make Up Innovator of the Year, Hair Innovator of the Year, Magazine of the Year, Fashion Blogger of the Year, Best Fashion Event of the Year, Model of the Year, Fashion Stylist of the Year, Fashion-Artist of the Year, Fashion Photographer of the Year, Streetwear Designer or Brand of the Year, Best Menswear Designer and Best Womanswear Designer. Once again, FGI San Antonio is set to present the FGI Award of Excellence, which was given to Michael Quintanilla last year for his outstanding lifetime achievements in the fashion industry. This year, FGI San Antonio will present five additional awards to Rising Stars in our fashion community which will be voted upon by FGI members.

The San Antonio Fashion Awards season consists of three phases, Nominations, Voting and the Ceremony. The first phase, Community Choice Nomination Phase, launched in July and ran until the end of the month. During this phase, the San Antonio community member with the most nominations from the public takes the coveted fourth slot in each category on the voting ballot.

Voting will take place until September 22nd and with a total of 4 nominees per category (including the Community Choice Nominees), the San Antonio community is encouraged to let their voice be heard and vote at SanAntonioFashionAwards.Com. Come October 12th, the winners will be announced on stage at the most glamorous red carpet ceremony of San Antonio’s yearly calendar.
