This week we joined The San Antonio Food Bank and the uber stylish lifestyle boutique, Sloan/Hall, in celebrating fashion for a good cause. Runway, Where Fashion Meets Compassion, was a charitable event showcasing all things Japanese in honor of the runway presentation by Haute Couture Fashion Designer, Yumi Katsura. Upon entrance attendees were invited to mingle through The San Antonio Food Bank warehouse sipping on cocktails and enjoying a wide variety of Japanese infused bites. Music could be heard as the crowd socialized and took in each others variation on Japanese fashion.

Making our way through the warehouse we were presented with a gorgeous runway designed for the best views of the Haute Couture treasures that would later be making a statement under the spotlight. To say the show was a feast for the eyes is an understatement. Yumi Katsura presented attendees with beautifully detailed garments that have walked the runways of Paris, Tokyo and New York. With much volume and alluring movement the garments worn by statuesque models strolled down the runway with accessories to match. The accessories assisted in truly capturing the beauty and essence of Japanese fashion. All the details certainly made the show quite the experience as proven by the “oohs” and “aahs” heard throughout the crowd.

The entire presentation was full of variations of kimonos, gowns, anime inspired garments, and ready to wear garments fit for spring from Sloan/Hall. The show was impeccably produced and the smile inducing finale included the playful models dancing around in celebration as an explosion of confetti closed out the show.

The stylish affair was elegant, fashionable and luxury all the way. The ticket is worth the experience and the importance of the cause reminded attendees that to give is always necessary.  Runway is held annually and is officially a must attend event for Style Lush TV. The bar was certainly set high this year and we can’t wait for 2019’s presentation! Make sure to stay tuned to the Style Lush TV  Fashion Events Calendar in order to stay up to date on all the fashionable events around town.
