Year Four!

On September 1st, there was no shortage of excitement when the 2018 San Antonio Fashion Awards nominees were released to the public. Once again, in its first three hours of release, SanAntonioFashionAwards.Com saw record-breaking numbers as excited fashion supporters let their voice be heard and voted on the platform. Last year, the site expanded awareness nationally as voters came in from all over the country. This year, in its fourth year, SanAntonioFashionAwards.Com saw international voters making this, the first year the site experienced global reach, marking 2018 its most successful year in bringing awareness to the elite fashion talent in San Antonio, Texas. Participating territories of San Antonio Fashion Awards voting include: Canada, Mexico, Thailand and France to name a few. More information is currently being collected as there were three other international participants on this years voting platform.

The San Antonio Fashion Awards is an exciting, red carpet ceremony that celebrates the growth of the San Antonio Fashion Industry and highlights excellence within the San Antonio Fashion Community. It takes place at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts and has served the community for four years. This year, on October 11th, patrons of the San Antonio Fashion Awards will enjoy a red carpet exhibition, cocktail & entertainment hour, the award ceremony (set to include some incredible City announcements and performances), the annual Break Out Fashion Designer of the Year fashion show, multiple photo ops, an interview lounge, opportunity to purchase the Official 2018 San Antonio Fashion Awards Fine Art Print and finally the after party, set to happen within walking distance of the Tobin Center at Havana Hotel & Ocho. This year, the San Antonio Fashion Awards is presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, who is proud to showcase their unwavering support for the positive growth of the San Antonio Fashion Community and Industry. VIP Table Guests and Nominees are set to enjoy champagne, a personal table server and surprises from Saks Fifth Avenue, Laura Mercier, Cellcosmet and NARS. Winners will receive the Diamond Award of Excellence, a gift from Daniel Espinosa Jewelry among other opportunities.

During the ceremony, the following categories will be acknowledged: Local Retailer of the Year, Make Up Innovator of the Year, Hair Innovator of the Year, Magazine of the Year, Fashion Blogger/Vlogger of the Year, Fashion Event of the Year, Model of the Year, Fashion Stylist of the Year, Fashion-Artist of the Year, Photographer of the Year, Streetwear Designer or Brand of the Year, Best Menswear Designer and Best Womanswear Designer. As usual, The San Antonio Fashion Awards is set to launch a special finale award at the end of the celebrated categories.

The San Antonio Fashion Awards season consists of three phases: Nominations, Voting and the Ceremony. The first phase, Community Choice Nomination Phase, launched in July and ran until the end of the month. During this phase, community were encouraged to nominate who they thought should take the fourth slot on the voting ballot. The San Antonio community member with the most nominations in each category took the fourth slot on the voting ballot at SanAntonioFasionAwards.Com.

On September 1st, the second phase of the season began. Voting took place from September 1st until September 23rd and with a total of 4 nominees per category (including the Community Choice Nominees), the public was encouraged to let their voice be heard. This year, with votes coming in nationally and Internationally, this is set to be the most widely received year to date. Come October 11th, the winners will be announced on stage at the most glamorous red carpet ceremony of San Antonio’s yearly calendar with many waiting in anticipation for the big evening.

This year, Hotel Havana & OCHO will be hosting the official After Party setting the foundation for an easily walkable destination from the Tobin Center and offering incredible food for patrons of the ceremony until midnight. More here.

Burgundy Woods has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music/Music Industries from the University of the Incarnate Word and a Design & Trend Forecasting degree from The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. She began her career in Hollywood, California, where she worked for major record labels such as Virgin Records, Interscope Records, EMI Music and Capitol Records. Later after attaining her fashion degree, she was discovered by MySpace, Inc. and was immediately hired to be their Fashion Curator starring and producing her show THE B-SPOT Fashion & Trends on their Fashion & Shopping channel. During this time, online media was in its infancy. She and her colleagues contributed to the invention and molding of the online fashion media industry. Many of the stylized ideas and tools that were launched through these platforms are still used to this day as industry standards for online fashion media. Later, with her extensive experience in developing online fashion media, she continued the show independently and has successfully rebranded THE B-SPOT into Style Lush TV online fashion network. Now, with over nine professional years in online fashion media and trend forecasting, she continues to pioneer, maneuver and develop her industry. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Style Lush TV. She is also the President of the Texas Fashion Industry Initiative. The state's official non-profit for the positive growth of the Texas fashion industry.
