28 Mar San Antonio Food Bank Celebrates American Fashion
The San Antonio Food Bank has once again successfully managed to leverage fashion and effectively generate awareness and funds for its charitable cause. Runway, Where Fashion Meets Compassion, was a visually stunning night full of fashion magic. Celebrating American fashion, patrons were treated to signature cocktails by the San Antonio Cocktail Conference, delicious Americana inspired cuisine, and raffles from local vendors around town.
The cause-driven fashion show was made possible by elite boutique Sloan/Hall and the fabulous duet: Ricardo Gutierrez and Emily McMichael whom make up R World Productions. The styles coming down the runway were spectacular garments made by American designers Hanh Merriman, Augusto Manzaneres, Georgine, and Mondo Guerra. The crowd was a buzz as not only was the catwalk on fire but the tunes induced feelings of excitement and nostalgia when songs such as Elton John’s Rocket Man, Frank Sinatra’s Luck Be a Lady, and Danzig’s Mother filled the warehouse.

An added touch to the evening was a best dressed showdown for the fashionable crowd. Judges included local staple and fashion journalist Michael Quintanilla, bling queen Tawana Timberlake, the radiant anchorwoman Ursula Pari, and the delightful Meteorologist Siobhain Anders. Judges handed out golden tickets to their best dressed guest who then strutted down the runway.
