Texas Non-Binary model, Fish Fiorucci, stars in Lady Gaga’s Beauty Campaign

Texas non-binary model, Fish Fiorucci, is making waves with their recent gig starring in Lady Gaga’s new beauty brand campaign for Haus Laboratories. Earlier this month, we launched word of Haus Laboratories and their plans to cater to those who believe “Beauty is how you see yourself.” With phrases like “your glam, your expression, your artistry” it is clear that true to Gaga’s long standing reputation for self expression, this beauty brand will be embraced by those who value being different, are creatively talented and dare to reinvent themselves, time and time again.

Upon further inspection of the campaign video (and confirmation texts from mutually excited friends), we noticed someone quite familiar –  Fish Fiorucci, in all their self expressive glory. Style Lush TV’s ties to this talent go several years back when local art collective, ESSENTIALS, featured the model in photography work and other projects. Even then, we could tell this model was special. There was a laser beam accuracy when it came to what they wanted and a fearless sense of artistry that would serve them well come “goal times”. Well, the time has come.
In their most recent career achievement, Fish Fiorucci serves as one of Gaga’s muses in the Haus Laboratories campaign commercial. Originally from Brownsville, Texas, now with family in San Antonio, Fish Fiorucci is currently traveling for work and for now, resides in New York City. We caught up with Fish Fiorucci to congratulate them and to get the scoop on this once in a lifetime opportunity to work with one of the world’s most iconic pop stars.

SLTV: We are so excited to see your career explode. What a move! How did you get on Lady Gaga’s radar?
FF: I manifested the shit out of this. I told myself if I didn’t book a big campaign before the end of this year I would quit modeling. I have strong intentions to become famous before 2020 comes around. I always knew I was destined to work with her sooner or later. I wasn’t having weird “sexxx dreams” with her in them for nothing.

SLTV: Hahaha… ah, you are missed here is San Antonio. What was the commercial shoot like? Give us the insider scoop on what a commercial shoot with Gaga is really like?
FF: She ran the show. If you didn’t catch up, you were bound to fall behind, though her group wouldn’t allow that. At some points during the shoot, I had to stop and eat a donut just to get some sugar running through my veins. It consisted of hard work and dedication, all honor of Gaga. She herself worked just as hard as anyone else on that set. I applaud her. Everything I took to set those few days, I learned from Gaga herself by just analyzing every critical career move she had made.

SLTV: Who did your makeup for the shoot?
FF: Sarah Tanno, LG’s MUA got to play with our faces during the first day of the shoot. After coming to a conclusion with Gaga as to which looks best fit my face, it was set in stone and passed on to the fabulous Michael Anthony, who’s also notably responsible for Katy Perry’s face.

SLTV: What are your fashion goals right now?
FF: Fame. FaMe. FAME! I’ve been through so many trials and errors with my own identity that I’m slowly becoming content with Fish Fiorucci. I love what I’ve become and I have a deep appreciation for the road I’ve taken to get here. I’m just waiting for the right person to appreciate my energy now. Someone who won’t sell my soul for cheap.

SLTV: Aw, well we’ve always loved your energy! You have an essence that speaks true to creativity and intriguing mystery. It has been such a pleasure watching you develop and grow as an artist. This particular thing came out of nowhere. We were pleasantly shocked! What do you have planned for the future?
FF: I enjoy making quiet moves in my career. I’m very superstitious about being cocky online. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, no one needs to know. You’ll just have to stick around for more.
SLTV: Haha… staying true to some Texas humble pie we see. 😉 Well, we have no doubt that you have something up your sleeve. This campaign is the ignition. We look forward to watching you go, go, go.

SLTV: Before we go, we mentioned that you are missed in San Antonio. What do you miss about San Antonio and Texas?
FF: Aside from having family in San Antonio, I found it to have the most impactful fashion industry in Texas. I got to start working at such a young age. I love Texas. Go big or go home! I learned from the best and Texas taught me how to be BOLD.
SLTV: Agreed. Yea, a lot of people have yet to discover how malleable San Antonio is for fashion industry. There is a strong foundation for passion and creativity, and we have absolutely no rules. That is our biggest asset right now. It is a time for everyone, with so much opportunity no matter what your fashion flag looks like. I think that’s why we love it here so much. We also think that people purposely keep the opportunity here on the down low. haha… The future for industry here is incredibly strong. It’s exciting. Keep in touch and let us know when you’re in town.
