Fashion Trends 2020: Here to stay or will they fade away?

Fashion Trends 2020: Here to stay or will they fade away?

Are you a trend seeker who often gets a case of FOMO as a new style pops up on your feed? The need to buy into trends is a feeling we’ve all felt when a must-have handbag, shoe, or ensemble has caught our attention. But are trends really worth buying? As we all know, trends can fade quickly, and sometimes, we are left to wonder, can this trend be carried into the next season or is it going to collect dust in the closet? Whether you enjoy luxury pieces or shop affordable items, shopping trends are still an investment of time and money and so we decided to find some of our favorites right now that we think will have some staying power for the time being.

Dramatic Sleeves

The dramatic sleeve trend is a sidewalk show stopper and comes in many different styles. Whether made with sheer, cotton, or faux leather fabrics in a long sleeve, or short sleeve style, this trend had no limits as to how big and high a puff can get. Other details like polka-dots added another visual effect to this look. Do you think this trend is here to stay or should it fade away?

Luxury Logo Pantyhose

Logomania is nothing new but this spring and summer it made its way from our handbags and traditional garments down to our legs. If you live in a state were heat is year-round like Texas, chances are you might have to skip on this trend, but if you live in an area where the climate is just right, this trend is a great way to add texture to a monochromatic look like the picture above. According to The Psychology of Fashion, “those in their teens and early twenties adopt logos to signal their allegiance to a tribe or cause.” Do you feel a certain level of confidence and a sense of belonging when you own a certain brand?

Puff Sandles

This spring season Bottega Veneta broke the internet when they came out with this square toe puffy sandal that cost an estimate of $1200. Many were desperate to get their hands on them as they became virtually impossible to buy. With every search and click, hearts were broken as the availability ceased to exist, and we can definitely see why. The soft stretch fabric and signature woven detail was said to be the most comfortable summer heel yet. Much of these details closely resemble a style from those cozy winter jackets. Bold Barrettes

Lastly, we saw this trend in F/W 2019 and we must say, bold hair barrettes are here to stay! From sassy wording to elegant pearls, these hair clips can transform a messy updo into an effortless all-day statement. They also serve as a nice pick-me-up when Quarantine life is making for a lackluster mood. When you can’t tame the flyaways, layer your barrettes for a rebel look and some personalized style.
