Simply Rayne Debuts Latest Song “Say Less” bringing A Fashion Forward Music Video!

In a world of cookie-cutter pop stars and soundalike singers, San Antonio native, Simply Rayne is that rare talent carving out her own lane. The self-described “Afrotina” (Afro-Latina) is set to release her radio-ready single “Say Less,” today, on July 3rd and the Style Lush team was lucky enough to get a first look (and listen) at her incredibly stylish music video. With lyrics “How you always talking, but you say too much! You always do the most, but still it ain’t enough…” were written partially out of frustration Rayne tells SLTV “So many of my friends and I have experienced guys who have good game. They look good on socials and outwardly, people think they’re a catch. In real relationships, they just don’t have themselves together. All they do is talk. Say Less is saying, please stop talking and show me and yourself some respect. Come through with the things you say you’re going to do!”

The emerging artist is inspired by the hip hop/R&B fusion of today’s hits and the medley of popular icons like Prince, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson — and, of course, her muse Beyoncé. “My music is fun, and you can bounce to it! It’s not bubblegum pop, but a mixture of R&B, hip-hop and pop,” says Rayne. Her single, “Don’t Stop,” feat. Baby Bash reached No. 42 on Billboard’s Dance Chart in 2018. Nothing stops this powerhouse, Rayne is currently recording her debut EP with an all-star team that includes noted songwriter Makeba Riddick-Woods who has worked with Beyonce & Mariah Carey, producer HaPpie X Chaz of Tha Aristocrats, and choreographer/creative director Luther Brown who has worked with Janet Jackson & Alicia Keys. It’s safe to say our San Antonio talent is in excellent hands.

Rayne is notorious for bringing the latest trends and is always showing her bubbling personality through her fashion. “My go-to stylist in San Antonio is Des Torres of Desja Chanel Boutique”, said the budding artist. “Her eye for fun, funky and colorful style always has me on point for photo shoots. The Inspiration for the look above came from the use of 90s color blocking paired with chunky gold square dropped earrings and vintage style yellow tinted sunnies. I felt so fly in this outfit!”

When it comes to Rayne’s style for the video she raved about her incredible stylist Othan, creative director, choreographer and celebrity fashion stylist. She has dressed artists such as Rihanna, Dinah Jane, and Tinashe, to name a few. Rayne gushed on this experience saying “working with her was an extreme honor. With this look, Othan wanted to reflect a more relaxed comfortable style. A black and white plaid printed oversized jacket with ripped sleeves and a pair of baggy shorts were paired with a black tube top and white knee-high combat boots. It was a great outfit to chill out at home.”

A notable look in the “Say Less” music video was this edgy streetwear vibe Othan pulled for Rayne. “For my next look, Othan was inspired to show more of a sporty street style which resulted in a pair of red vinyl oversized pants, Nike sneakers and a light green baseball styled crop top. I was really feeling tough in that fit!”
