The Human Experience: when streetwear and art collide. Get to know VRARE.

The rise of streetwear as a valid and elevated genre of fashion has arrived.

For several years now, what used to be a sub-culture of fashion, has now become, arguably, ready-to-wear, and vice versa. In today’s modern world, where officewear is growing more casual and streetwear is growing more contemporary, we are seeing a blossoming of a new hybrid of style that many say is the new “it-everyday wear”. With the hippest and more talented of home stylists mixing and matching high fashion with elevated streetwear, the line between what is high fashion and what is streetwear is slowly blurring. Even high fashion continuously takes note of what streetwear enthusiasts want to wear and makes sure to carefully create coveted closet pieces for that audience and fashion enthusiasts. With today’s hottest streetwear styles sitting comfortably in the high fashion VIP chairs, it is no secret – streetwear is H. O. T.

Along with streetwear, Kirpes, like many streetwear brands, is immersed in the art scene. With streetwear being such a highly lifestyle type of genre, art and music never seem to be far behind, with almost all streetwear brands having some type of art and music involvement, both with its fashion and their events.

For VRARE, this Saturday, April 10th, patrons can come out (safely) and not only meet the founder of VRARE but also, immerse themselves with what the brand is calling “THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE“.

Shrowded in a bit of mystery, THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE event page is purposely limited in information, however, it promises a “rare experience for all who attend” with a visual arts gallery featuring artist Alain Gakwaya. Along with the art, VRARE will feature its latest collection as we ponder, “making sense of the human experience”, all the while, encouraging patrons to bring an introspective mindset as we, “find purpose, face adversity, and draw closer to each other” during these meaningful and heavy times.

“In 2019, Alain Gakwaya and I created a plan for an annual art gallery in San Antonio called “The Human Experience”. Due to the challenges we all faced in 2020 this event had to be postponed, but, because of those challenges, we gained an entirely new perspective of what it means to be human…” Kirpes explains. “…we learned we can make the most of this rare experience of being human. Our art and merchandise is designed and created based off of those core principles.”

All humans welcome.
